Community Partners
In the Fall of 2005, it looked as if the Cinema had shown it’s last movie. In the spirit of community partnership, a number of committed individuals and companies helped keep its doors open.
A special thanks to the following organizations for their support of the Cinema — They’ve been very generous to Jo Ann and the Cinema:
John Thomas Property Management
John Trickey, the president of JTPM, is the hard-working man behind the repairs to the roof, the air conditioners, the soffits and the marquee; he owns a number of building in Corn Hill and the Southwedge and has been incredibly generous to the Cinema.
Stromboli Express
David Bantle has been tremendously generous to Jo Ann and the Cinema; if you want great pizza, wings and, of course, stromboli, he’s the man to call.
Rochester Apparel
Pat Proietti and his people have offered us terrific pricing and quick turnaround on a number of tee prints and other promotional items.
Affordable Signs and Graphics
Scott Seely has done the work on the CNMA Euro stickers and the Cinema logo stickers. As the name says, his pricing is affordable and his service has been great.
Cheesy Eddies
John and Colleen Baker kindly donated their fabulous cheesecakes and carrot cake for the Cinema’s Marquee Lighting Ceremony. If you live in the Southwedge, you’ve probably already tasted their delectable treats; if not, make it a point to soon visit this Rochester treasure.
Roc Trio / Hip twelve / Appetite
These were the three high school bands that did our first benefit — If you missed them live, they were awesome and are worth giving a listen to.
GEVA Comedy Improv
Tim Goodwin’s talented group of comedians gave us a night of laughter to remember. This gifted company normally performs at Nextstage, GEVA’s black box theater, but Mark Cuddy, GEVA’s artistic director, was kind enough to push them towards our stage for a very successful benefit — We hope to see them again in the fall.
